Preparing Your Project

What’s required:

  • Students must prepare a clear, 8-10 minute presentation with a slide deck. 

  • Presentations will be cut off after 10 minutes. 

  • Students should practice pacing and transitions. 

  • All team members should speak at least once during the presentation. 

  • There will be 2-3 minutes of Q&A from the judges' panel after presentations.

How to Prepare:

  • Students are permitted to use notecards – encourage writing down only keywords to keep them engaged with the audience.

  • Have students record and watch themselves present, so they catch mistakes in pacing, posture, and filler words.

  • Practice in a large room or hallway so that students get comfortable projecting their voices.
