As a first-generation student at UT Austin studying Government with a minor in Law, Justice, and Society, Kenya is dedicated to making law and politics more accessible by expanding civic engagement and legal opportunities for underrepresented communities and students.
At UT, Kenya is the Internal Vice President of Texas Political Consulting, a non-partisan organization that equips students to engage in advocacy and prepare for careers in politics. She is also a founding officer for newly established UT chapter of Lawtina, where she helps connect Latina students with legal professionals across Texas to create pathways for greater representation in the legal field.
Beyond campus, Kenya has worked across campaigns, government, and nonprofits to ensure that policy remains responsive to people’s needs. Her experiences include serving as a legislative intern for former Senator Morgan LaMantia, a government affairs intern at Hidalgo County Precinct 2, and a disability advocacy intern at the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities. In every role, whether legislative, grassroots, or advocacy-focused, her mission to expand access and uplift people’s voices has stayed the same.
